World Day of Prayer
Friday 6th March 2015
‘Jesus said to them “Do you know what I have done to you?”’
Written by Christian women of the Bahamas
Will YOU join us?
A warm welcome awaits you at your local service in Lochgilphead Parish Church at 7pm
“Where 2 or 3 are gathered together in my name … there I will be also.’ WILL YOU JOIN US?
Every year on (or near) the first Friday in March, Christians around the world (Protestants, Roman Catholics, Orthodox, Evangelicals) of all ages (women, men, young people and children) gather in small groups and large congregations using the same basic form of worship, written by women of a different country each year on a theme chosen by the world day of Prayer International Committee.
‘Lord teach us to pray’
This year we pray with women of the Bahamas for
• Those struggling with poverty
• Victims of domestic violence
• Those diagnosed with cancer
• Those who are living in fear and uncertainty
• Teenage pregnancies
• Those living with HIV or AIDS
• Local concerns
In this service we think about serving one another. Jesus said, to the disciples after washing their feet, ‘Do you know what I have done to you?’ Jesus set an example of how to serve and instructs s to serve each other in the same spirit.
Are we ready and willing to serve in obedience to His word?
